Insight

Transportation systems are shared amongst all of us. The data, unfortunately, is disjointed. Together, we can fix it.

Abstract

Canada’s transport authorities rely on data from many sources, systems, and vendors but inconsistent formats and siloed datasets make it difficult to plan, operate, and maintain transportation networks efficiently.

In this presentation, we will explore why data harmonization matters, how fragmented data impacts safety and decision‑making, and what trends – like digital twins, AI, IoT, and open data – mean for future infrastructure management. Participants will learn the core concepts of data harmonization, the roles of key stakeholders, and simple steps agencies can take to reduce costs, improve interoperability, and prepare for emerging technologies.

Join us to see how harmonized data can unlock more effective, sustainable, and connected transportation systems across Canada."
