GIS Inflection Point: Re-Defining the Business Value of GIS for the Organization
GIS has been around for decades. Almost all organizations in the municipal space have some level of GIS capability, and there are numerous ‘Maturity Models’ and approaches that can be used to measure the so-called ‘Business Value’ of GIS. Yet often these are focused on the mechanics of a GIS and/or measure value by overly simplified indicators. This talk will make the case that time has come to re-define what the business value of a GIS is, and how it should be measured in the modern context.
