About Greg Babinski
Greg Babinski is a Certified GIS Professional (GISP), EthicalGEO Fellow, and a leading figure in the GIS community. He has dedicated his career to advancing GIS applications for equity, social justice, public policy, and best-run governments. He has 35 years of hands-on GIS management experience, including 24 years in various management roles for the highly innovative award-winning King County GIS Center in Seattle. Greg is also a past president of URISA (Urban and Regional Information Systems Association) and the founder of its GIS Management Institute. His contributions include developing the GIS Capability Maturity Model, co-authoring workshops on GIS for Equity and Social Justice, and four (and counting) articles in the peer-review Geographic Information Science & Technology Body of Knowledge. In 2022 Greg launched GIS Management Consulting Services and the GIS Management Academy.
