Frontenac County Business DirectoryAuthor: Anand Charvin G at the County of Frontenac The Frontenac County Business Directory is an interactive, map-based tool showcasing local enterprises across North, Central, and South Frontenac and the Frontenac Islands. Designed for residents, visitors, and economic development stakeholders, it solves the challenge of discovering hyperlocal services by replacing scattered lists with a single, searchable geographic experience. Users filter by category or township, access business details, and visualize regional commerce in context. More than a directory, it strengthens community connections by making local businesses easier to find and support. Built with ArcGIS Experience Builder, the project highlights how accessible geospatial design can drive engagement, foster economic resilience, and tell the evolving story of Frontenac's small-business ecosystem. |
1879 Muskoka Atlas 2.0Author: Stuart Paul at the District of Muskoka A book was published roughly 150 years ago that described the newly surveyed district of Muskoka which intended to give people coming to the region some information about the land and it's communities. The book has maps of the geographic townships, detailed town plans, and captivating sketches of the landscape. Once we discovered this book, we realized that it could be the basis for a wonderful Story Map for history and ancestry enthusiasts or academics. With this and other content digitized, we built the storymap that is presented today on our web mapping portal the Muskoka GeoHub. |
