GIS MANAGEMENT: GEOSPATIAL BUSINESS MANAGEMENT CHALLENGES

Seminar will be led by Greg Duffy (The Woodfield Management Group).

This 90-minute seminar will discuss business and management challenges related to the implementation of geospatial-based solutions. Time will also be spent discussing ways to promote geospatial data and technology within your organization to technical and non-technical staff to make them think and act.

Discussion topics will include:

  • Background and the ongoing challenge of explaining the value of a geospatial-based approach to business problems
  • Discuss “creativity” and how it starts with curiosity that is within each of us
  • Examples of creative geo-based implementations in history
  • The difference between costs and value; productivity and capability
  • Identify that the kick-off for a creative idea is the elevator pitch
  • Identify a 10-step business case approach
  • Wrap up by identifying themes that case reviewers may wonder about
