Biography

Lisa graduated from Brock University with a Bachelors in Geography in 2008, and continued her education at Niagara College, obtaining a Post-Graduate Certificate in GIS – Geospatial Management in 2009. Fresh out of school, she landed a job with the Toronto Zoo as a Wetland Conservation GIS Analyst, mapping suitable turtle habitat within the Rouge River Watershed. From there, she entered the consulting world working for The Sernas Group Inc (later GHD Canada), in fall of 2009. In 2014, she made the switch to working for the public at the Town of Whitby. Always eager to learn more, in 2018 she began working for the Regional Municipality of Durham and is currently a Senior GIS Analyst within their Community Growth & Economic Development department.
Lisa obtained her GISP in July 2023, received an Award of Excellence – Innovation from Durham Region in May 2024, and joined the Board of BeSpatial in September 2024.
